I am a cartoonist and illustrator. My gag cartoons have appeared in The Spectator, The New Statesman, Prospect Magazine, The Oldie, The New Humanist, The Magazine of the Light Music Society, scientific publications, trade magazines, etc. I have had commissions to do illustrative cartoons for commercial websites (for example , recruitment agencies and CRB check companies). A changing selection of my cartoons is shown on the cartoons page.
Whiteboard animation began in the nineties, Truscribe being one of the first companies to explore its potential. In 2012 the UK company, Sparkol, created Videoscribe, software that allows individuals to make their own whiteboard animations. Hand drawn cartoons or artwork can be converted into SVG's and then imported into Videoscribe where they can be used either as simple self-drawing cartoons or as part of more complex stories. Videoscribe has great potential for anything which involves storytelling, be it humour, education or business. Small custom-made animations can also be very useful to hold attention on websites.
A number of my “videoscribes” or “whiteboard animations” can be seen
on my Animations page.
